Environmental Podcasts

The world of mp3 players, from ipods to cell phones, has seen phenomenal growth. Music is not the only thing playing on these devices. The advent of "podcasts" several year ago has brought "radio shows" to the user on demand, sort of a TiVo for your mp3 player.

National Public Radio makes available most of their programs as podcasts for download (NPR podcast directory). Universities are podcasting course lectures.

Apple itunes
makes it easy to subscribe to particular podcasts which will automatically download to your computer. You can listen to them on your computer, put them on an ipod or other mp3 player.

Here are a couple of my favorite environmental podcasts:

NPR: Environment - A weekly 30 minute collection of stories about the environment.

Living on Earth - A weekly 50 minute show of
news, features, interviews and commentary on a broad range of ecological issues.

Sierra Club Radio - A weekly 30 minute show of tips, stories and interviews.
